George Frandsen holds the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of coprolites, also known as fossilized feces. This peculiar passion led him to quit his corporate job, sell his house, and open the Poozeum in Williams, Arizona—the world’s only museum dedicated exclusively to these prehistoric relics.

Frandsen's fascination with coprolites began at age 18 when he encountered his first specimen in a Utah rock shop. Fast forward to 2015, and his collection was officially recognized with 1,277 verified specimens. By 2024, this number had ballooned to an estimated 8,000 pieces, though this figure awaits Guinness verification.

The Poozeum, which opened its doors in May 2024, showcases this extensive collection, including the star attraction, "Barnum." This massive coprolite, potentially from a Tyrannosaurus rex, measures 67.5 cm long and weighs over 9 kg, making it the largest known coprolite from a carnivore.

Visitors to the Poozeum are treated to a journey through time, with coprolites ranging from 10,000 to over 400 million years old. These specimens offer insights into the diets and environments of ancient creatures, from dinosaurs to insects.

George Frandsen’s story is a testament to the power of following one's passion, no matter how unusual. The Poozeum stands as a quirky tribute to the past, proving that even the most unexpected interests can lead to extraordinary achievements.
